Police in north Leeds have issued a warning to residents after a spate of burglaries and vehicle thefts over Christmas.

Adele Fox, Neighbourhood Support Officer for North East Leeds, issued a series of community alerts to residents detailing the crimes.

Thieves have targeted Roundhay, Meanwood, Wetherby, Harewood and Alwoodley over the last few days, but there is nothing to suggest the crimes are connected.

Expensive jewellery was stolen in a burglary in Alwoodley between 6pm on Christmas Day and 9am on Friday, December 27.

Thieves broke into the back of a house on Wigton Lane, before stealing expensive items from a jewellery box upstairs.

The suspects made off unseen and anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting reference 13190659776.

Arrest after burglary in East Keswick

A suspect has been arrested after two vehicles were stolen in a burglary in East Keswick.

The burglary happened on Mary's Garth at 8.32am on Saturday, December 28.

Keys for a garage and two vehicles parked on the drive were stolen, as well as electric bikes.
