Homes evacuated after grenade found in village

HOMES were evacuated yesterday evening after a grenade was found in a village near Doncaster.

Explosives experts were called to Newbigg at Westwoodside, North Lincolnshire, at 5pm after the potentially live device was found during renovations to a property.

Humberside Police put up a cordon around the home and people living in neighbouring properties were asked to leave as a precaution.
