Arsonist hunted after Woodhouse home targeted

Police are hunting an arsonist after a house in Woodhouse occupied by five men was set on fire.

The alarm was raised at 6am on Friday, June 12.

Fires had been started on the outside of two ground-floor uPVC windows at a house in Hartley Avenue, Woodhouse.

Smoke from the fires triggered the smoke alarm and alerted the five men living in the house, who escaped unharmed.

Firefighters attended and dealt with the fires and established that the fires had been started
deliberately.

The incident is being investigated as arson and detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the area any time between 5am and 6am and saw anything suspicious to contact them.
