Old Headingley 3 Woodhouse Hill 0A dominant performance was rewarded with three goals whilst at the other end Headingley's defence and goalkeeper enjoyed a relatively stress-free afternoon and took advantage of the opportunity to contribute to their side's attacking endeavours.

The home side immediately began to profit from the visitors' apparent weakness down the flanks and began getting the ball forward quickly, creating problems every time the ball was in and around the penalty area.
A combination of poor touches in front of goal and disappointing final deliveries meant that as the half drew to a close, the Woodhouse 'keeper had only really been called into serious action by efforts from distance by the home side's midfield. However, his resistance was breached just before the interval.
A fine save to deny a half volley from the marauding centre half Callum Butcher did not receive the good fortune it deserved, as the loose ball was picked up by Andy Hallam who bamboozled a defender before striking the post from ten yards, leaving Butcher unchallenged to net the rebound six yards out.
As the second half began, Headingley sought the second goal that would put their beleaguered opponents out of sight. With forwards Kempton and Hallam taking turns to drop deep and link up with their midfield, it seemed only a matter of time before a second goal came.
The decisive strike came midway through the half when another Headingley attack was unceremoniously brought to an end on the edge of the penalty area and Kempton stepped up curl the free kick around the wall and inch-perfectly find the narrowest of spaces underneath the angle of post and crossbar.
Leigh Fearn's brave claiming of a couple of loose balls in the Headingley penalty area saw off any efforts at a comeback from Woodhouse and within moments the lead was almost extended as a link up between Butcher and Kempton ended with a wild finish from the defender when the goal was at his mercy.
The home side knew it was to be their day when with ten minutes to go the normally goal-shy Sean Tyers met a left wing cross from Daniel Keating with a bullet header for his first goal of the season, a tally he almost doubled in the closing stages when he shot at the keeper's legs from point blank range with Paul Harrington begging for a ball across the face of goal.
There was still time for substitute Steve Beck to make his presence felt with an all-action performance and a couple of efforts on goal, but all in all at the end of the game the three goal margin of victory fairly reflected the gap between the two outfits on the day.
