The flare, creativity and enthusiasm shared by a group of Lawnswood students to create a 'graffiti wall' in the school quadrangle has triggered a major Enterprise project.
The group of Year 10 students, led by technology teacher Fleur Jordan, have designed a mural to represent what education and school means to them.

This project is not only about Art but about a team approach to organising such a large project. The size of the image alone will be 15 – 20m2 and the wall will require preparation before the actual imagines can be painted on to it.
Students Ashley Alderson and Tom Wilson set the project in motion by meeting with Lawnswood Schools' Business Manager, Sarah Hart, to seek approval and support for the project. It is intended that the progress of the design will be recorded as it develops and that pupils will have rolls ranging from project manager and official photographer to artist and technical support.
The school is also thankful for support from their PFI partner, Carillion Integrated Solutions, with this project.
Artist Nick, is an Arts Award qualified tutor and his gallery plus much more can viewed at www.olasart.com. Last year the Arts Council acknowledged the high level to which art is delivered and further considered across the curriculum at Lawnswood by awarding Artsmark Silver to the school.
The school is already setting its sights on Artsmark Gold in the next phase of the Award programme.
