By day the 5ft 4ins brunette studies in the library for a degree in public relations at Leeds Metropolitan University.

But by night the 22-year-old works as a stiltwalker at Leeds club Speedqueen, in fancy costume, walking on metre high stilts among clubbers.

Jade, in her second year at Leeds Met, is one of 17 finalists in the Playboy UK competition.

The top three girls will go through to the Global Playboy Model competition and it could mean worldwide fame for her if named winner.

Jade said: "My mum and dad are really proud of me. Some people think that models, especially glamour models are all stupid, well that is not the case.

"I am studying for a degree and all my mates are really pleased for me being a finalist in the competition. I am certainly not stupid. I want to work in PR eventually, but while studying I plan to model."

Jade's boyfriend is Mark Boyes, resident DJ at Glasshouse, Leeds, who also DJ's at bars Fibre and Space, and fully supports her career.

Originally from Ackrington in Lancashire, her route to being discovered is simple: "I sent some pictures off ages ago for the competition and heard nothing, then suddenly out of the blue, I was told had been picked out of thousands of girls as the editor's choice and was invited for a professional photo shoot - in underwear.

"Some people get confused by UK playboy is not nude or topless, that is just the American Playboy.

"It is more tastefull lingerie shots of implied nude. I wouldn't really fancy doing nude shots."

She was called for a "tasteful" photoshoot in London for the finalist pictures and really enjoyed the experience: "It was great fun."

Jade added: "I really need people to vote by text for me to go through to the final. My boyfriend is urging people to vote for me."
