Leeds great-great grandmother celebrates 100th birthday
A RETIRED tailoress celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by five generations of her family at Seacroft Care Village in Leeds.
Great-great grandmother Mona Collins received a telegram from the Queen to mark her centenary yesterday.
Widow Mrs Collins, whose husband Thomas Maltman Collins died aged 61 in 1967, lived independently in Roundhay, Leeds, until last October.

Hide AdHer daughter Jean Carroll, 72, of Tadcaster, said: “She got all her cards and her presents so I think she has had a pretty good day.” Mrs Collins has two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
