Leeds pupils spend day with author Anne Fine
Ms Fine told the Year Five pupils from four schools about how her life was full of inspiration for stories.
A boy who spoke with her for hours about Tottenham Hotspur was one inspiring moment, she told them. Another was a newspaper story of a dog who scared people who mistook it for an escaped lion.

Pupil Mohammed said: “I’ve never met an author in my life. I got to meet an author who wrote a book that I’ve read.”
The visit took place as part of the Ilkley Literature Festival, which the school sponsors. Ms Fine’s books have been translated into 45 languages.
