Nostalgia: Leeds Civic Hall opening

It's the 23rd August 1933 and the Leeds Civic Hall is being opened by King George V and Queen Mary.
Members of the Council and other dignitaries line the entrance to welcome the Royal guests. The procession makes its way up Calverley Street while soldiers and policemen hold back the good natured crowds.
The Lord mayor of Leeds R. H. Blackburn greets the King and Queen watched by 30 to 40 thousand people.
