Leeds United secured a return to the Premier League this weekend.

Liam Cooper says he is a young man living his boyhood dream after Leeds United secured promotion to the Premier League.

The Whites clinched a return to the top flight without kicking a ball on Friday night as West Bromwich Albion fell to defeat against West Yorkshire neighbours Huddersfield Town.

The result sparked wild celebrations for supporters across the city and the world as the club secured a return to the top flight for the first time in 16 years.

United were then crowned champions on Saturday afternoon as Stoke City toppled Brentford ahead of United's trip to Pride Park on Sunday.

Marcelo Bielsa's outfit ran out 3-1 winners over the Rams despite the head coach making seven changes.

United's squad celebrated at full-time on the pitch, and Cooper spoke of his delight post-match.

“It's unbelievable. I'm lost for words. I don't think it's sunk in yet," he said.

“I've not seen the kids yet to celebrate with them but it is real, Leeds United are back.

“It's been a tough 16 years, we really have been to the bottom and now we can enjoy it. We've been the best team all season through sheer hard work, determination and sacrifice and this group deserves it.

“I expected to be walking home after half an hour of the game with West Brom two up but fate can be a funny thing.
