But our minds often turn to those in need - perhaps without the family, resources, or luck in life that many of us have been given. Instead of buying that extra stocking filler, why not consider giving back to your community this Christmas.
1. Give to charity
St George's Crypt, in the city centre, work with the homeless, vulnerable and those suffering with addiction.
2. Give blood
You can donate blood at Leeds City Blood Donor Centre, on The Headrow.
3. Have lunch at The Arch Cafe
Serving homemade meals, cakes, loose leaf tea and speciality coffees, the cafe is a social enterprise, donating all profits to Age UK Leeds.
4. Donate to a food bank

5. Donate a bicycle
